BEHAVIOR BUCKS
Throughout your child's time in my class they will not only be striving to be good learners but also good citizens. Their behavior in our learning environment will not only affect their learning but the others around them as well. It is so important that the children develop good behavior early on to enable them to reach their optimal learning potential.
We encourage the students to have good behavior through positive reinforcement. The children are given the opportunity to earn good behavior bucks. They earn these by following the school rules, completing given work, and being a good friend to their classmates. The children then are given the opportunity to buy prizes with their money. The more money they have to spend, the better the prize.
The children are able to learn many important lessons from their experience. The first and most important is that their hard work has rewards. When they work hard they will reap the benefits. The next is that there are consequences to their actions. If they do not exhibit appropriate behavior in the classroom, they will not earn the money that would enable them to buy prizes with the other children.
I feel that this program works very well. The positive reinforcement encourages desired behavior in the classroom which will follow them into other areas of their lives. . Any donations to the prizes are greatly appreciated.
